Nic Jones, Intern
Nic Jones is a Clinical Social Work Intern pursuing his Master of Clinical Social Work at the University of North Alabama. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Counseling from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, where he also completed a minor in Church Ministry Practicum.
Nic brings experience in client intake, crisis-response support, care coordination, and trauma-informed practices through his work in mental health and ministry settings. He has supported individuals experiencing acute distress and helped connect clients with appropriate care while maintaining a compassionate, welcoming environment.
Clients appreciate Nic’s warm, approachable personality and his heart for helping people feel safe, valued, and encouraged. His counseling style emphasizes compassion, curiosity, and meeting people where they are without judgment.
Nic has particular interests in trauma recovery, anxiety, nervous system regulation, spiritual abuse recovery, relationship concerns, and emotional wellness. He has completed Brainspotting Phase 1 training and Gottman Method Couples Therapy Level 1 training. He is also a certified Prepare/Enrich facilitator for premarital and marital counseling.
Nic provides counseling services under the supervision of Kaylee Newton, LICSW-S, while continuing his clinical training and professional development.
