Our Statement of Faith

I. God’s Word Is Life-Giving

We believe the Bible is not just a book—it’s God’s breath poured out on paper. Inspired by the Holy Spirit and without error, Scripture is our foundation, our compass, and our hope (2 Timothy 3:16–17; Proverbs 30:5). Every belief we hold, every bit of healing we pursue, flows from its Truth. When we align our thoughts with God’s Word, we’re not just surviving—we’re being transformed (Psalm 1:1–3; 2 Corinthians 10:5).

II. God Loves You—Right Now, As You Are

You don’t have to clean yourself up to come to God. He doesn’t ask you to fix your heart before He holds it. Scripture says, “But God showed His great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners” (Romans 5:8). That means your mess doesn’t scare Him. His mercy runs deeper still (Ephesians 2:4–5). His love isn't earned—it’s freely given.

III. God’s Love Is Personal and Pursuing

This isn’t a distant, theoretical kind of love. God calls you His child (1 John 3:1). You’re not adopted into His family by accident—He chose you because it brought Him joy (Ephesians 1:5). Even if you’ve been wounded by earthly parents, God never leaves, never wounds, never withdraws. He’s a perfect Father, and His love is fierce and forever (John 3:16).

IV. God’s Love Grows You, Not Just Comforts You

God loves you too much to leave you where you are. His love stretches you, sanctifies you, and strengthens you. When you surrender your life to Christ, you receive the Holy Spirit—the ever-present whisper of wisdom, power, and peace (2 Corinthians 5:14–15; Romans 5:5). And yes, sometimes love corrects. Discipline from God isn’t punishment—it’s purposeful growth (Proverbs 3:11–12). He doesn’t waste pain. He uses it to shape beauty from ashes.

V. God’s Love Sustains You Through Every Season

When life breaks your heart, God doesn’t sit far off in silence. He’s close. Tender. Present. “You care about the anguish of my soul,” the Psalmist writes (Psalm 31:7). God isn’t asking you to pretend the hard things aren’t hard—He’s inviting you to bring them to Him. He’s the God of comfort in the waiting, peace in the storm, and joy that doesn’t depend on circumstances (Lamentations 3:20–23; Psalm 5:11–12). His love is our refuge.

VI. God’s Love Is Unfathomable—and Unshakable

God’s love doesn’t quit. It doesn't hinge on your performance or disappear when you stumble. Nothing—no fear, no failure, no force in heaven or on earth—can separate you from His love (Romans 8:38–39). And while human love can falter, God’s love is perfectly patient, kind, and enduring (1 Corinthians 13:4–7).

We’ll never fully grasp how wide, long, high, and deep His love is (Ephesians 3:18–19). But here’s what we know: You are safe in it. Held by it. Changed through it. And no matter what today holds, tomorrow begins with mercy again.

How Still Waters Counseling Reflects These Beliefs

At the heart of our counseling practice is the conviction that God's Truth and love are not just ideas—they are the anchors of real healing. We believe that true transformation happens when clinical excellence is joined with spiritual Truth, and when compassionate care is rooted in the unchanging character of God. Whether you are walking through deep pain, seeking clarity, or hoping for renewal, our approach is shaped by the belief that you are seen, loved, and invited into wholeness by a God who redeems all things. His Truth is our guide. His love is our foundation. And through every session, we aim to reflect both.
