Becky Moerbe, MSSW, LICSW
Hello! My name is Becky and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Alabama. I hold a Master of Science in Social Work degree from the University of Texas at Arlington. I completed a bachelor’s degree in behavioral science from Concordia University Texas.
I have provided mental health support to people for over 20 years in a variety of settings from homes to hospitals. I work with teens and adults. I have focused on working with people facing crisis due to life changes- either health, relationships, or mental health. I have experience working with concerns including depression, grief, adjustment, life transitions, caregiver stress, spiritual distress, and trauma.
My counseling style is warm, encouraging, honest, respectful, with a dash of humor. I like to adjust my therapy approach according to what best serves my client. I find that trauma-informed cognitive behavioral (CBT) work is foundational in helping people establish healthy boundaries. I highly value using research-based practices in therapy. I am also trained in Dialectal Behavioral Therapy, Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing.
This holistic approach allows freedom for me to meet people where they truly are. The relief that comes with being seen and heard is so necessary for healing and moving forward in life. It is humbling to see people encounter the redemptive grace of God and have joy in new ways of living.
I want to help empower you in reaching your goals, and to better understand yourself and your world. I encourage you to be honest and approach your counseling experience with curiosity. I respect the courage and vulnerability it takes to lean into a discovery process about yourself.
I look forward to working with you!
Becky
