Jerri Dobelstein, MA, ALC, NCC
Jerri Dobelstein brings a calm, steady presence and a deep commitment to understanding each client’s story. She works with individuals and couples who are navigating emotional pain, life transitions, and experiences that feel overwhelming or difficult to process alone.
Jerri earned her Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Regent University. She also holds a Master of Arts in Intercultural Studies from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, which informs her understanding of how culture, life experiences, and personal identity shape each person’s story.
Jerri completed her clinical internship with Still Waters Counseling & Education Center, where she provided counseling services both in the office and onsite at The Lovelady Center and Hope Inspired Ministries. Through this work, she gained experience supporting individuals in recovery, processing trauma, navigating complex life circumstances, and rebuilding their lives with greater stability and hope. She also has training in trauma-informed care as a facilitator with the Trauma Healing Institute.
Jerri primarily utilizes a person-centered and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) approach to counseling. She believes meaningful healing begins within a safe, supportive therapeutic relationship where clients feel genuinely heard, respected, and understood. At the same time, she helps clients identify unhelpful thought patterns, process difficult emotions, develop healthier coping strategies, and move toward meaningful change and growth.
Her counseling style is both compassionate and intentional. Jerri works collaboratively with clients to increase self-awareness, strengthen emotional resilience, and build practical tools for navigating life’s challenges. She approaches each client with patience, empathy, and respect for their individual pace and goals.
For clients who desire it, Jerri integrates faith into the counseling process in a way that is natural, respectful, and aligned with each client’s personal values and beliefs.
Jerri is an Associate Licensed Counselor (ALC) in Alabama practicing under the supervision of Marcy McClain, LPC-S.
Her goal is to provide a safe and supportive environment where clients can explore their story, experience healing, and move forward with greater clarity, confidence, and purpose.
