Our Mission Statement

"He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul."

—Psalm 23:2–3

At Still Waters Counseling and Education Center, we believe healing begins when truth and compassion meet. Our mission is to offer quality, Christ-centered counseling that’s not only excellent—but accessible. Whether someone desires therapy rooted in faith or simply a safe space to process life’s challenges, we are here to walk alongside them with grace and care.

We’re not just in the business of mental health—we’re in the business of hope.

Our heart is to:

  • Bring light into dark places

  • Guide people toward healing and restoration

  • Strengthen families and relationships

  • Help every person we serve live with renewed purpose and peace

Mental health doesn’t discriminate and neither do we. Our doors are open to individuals of all ages, backgrounds, and beliefs. Whether someone walks in with faith, with questions, or with nothing left but the ache of what’s been broken—we welcome everyone just as they are.

As Hannah Wesolowski, Chief Advocacy Officer for NAMI, shared in 2024: “Our country is experiencing record suicide and overdose rates, and more people than ever are seeking mental health services.”

The 2023 NAMI Trends in Access to Mental Health Care report reminds us that less than half of adults with mental illness receive the treatment they need—often due to financial limitations or lack of resources. Even with insurance, the cost of care can feel out of reach.

That’s why we do more than provide therapy. We work to increase access to therapy. We partner with multiple insurance providers, offer a sliding scale rate for private pay clients, and provide financial assistance through our Helping Hands Program (as funds are available)—because no one should be turned away from healing because of a price tag.

At Still Waters, we believe mental health care is a sacred space—and everyone deserves to find rest for their weary souls.
