Beverly Ward, MA, EdS, LPC
Beverly Ward is a Licensed Professional Counselor and the Founder and Executive Director of Still Waters Counseling & Education Center. She is passionate about helping people find hope, healing, and a way forward during difficult seasons of life.

Beverly understands that reaching out for counseling can feel overwhelming, especially when someone is carrying stress, anxiety, trauma, grief, depression, relationship struggles, or emotional exhaustion.
She believes that people are not meant to walk through pain alone, and that healing is possible.
Her counseling approach is compassionate, grounded, and practical. Beverly primarily utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Person-Centered Therapy (PCT) to help clients better understand their thoughts, emotions, relationships, and patterns. For clients who desire it, she also thoughtfully integrates biblical wisdom and Christian faith into the counseling process.

Clients often appreciate Beverly’s calm presence, encouragement, and genuine care. She believes good therapy should be both supportive and transformative, providing a safe place to process pain while also helping people develop healthier perspectives, stronger coping skills, and renewed hope.

Throughout her career, Beverly has worked with children, teens, adults, couples, and families in a variety of counseling and community mental health settings. Her background includes school counseling, crisis intervention, vocational rehabilitation, psychological testing, and nonprofit leadership.

Beverly holds three degrees in the behavioral sciences from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, including a B.S in Psychology, a M.A. in Rehabilitation Counseling, and an Ed.S. in Counseling. She also completed post-graduate training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy through the Beck Institute for Cognitive Behavior Therapy and pursued graduate-level biblical counseling studies through Birmingham Theological Seminary.

In addition to counseling, Beverly enjoys mentoring future counselors, writing and speaking on mental health topics, and helping expand access to faith-integrated mental health care throughout Alabama.

Above all, Beverly wants clients to know this: healing is possible, growth is possible, and there is hope, even in hard places.
